Introduction to Graphic Design (AR-204)
Introduction to Graphic Design lays the groundwork for visual communications and design literacy, guiding students to understand how meaning is formed and expressed. We explore creativity and visual expression through the foundations of art & design (line, shape, value, color, space etc) while introducing key practices in the professional field of graphic design. We learn to create conceptually-rich pieces of graphic design through ideation and creative thinking, using the design process. Through student research presentations we carve a space for graphic design in our history knowledge base. We do series of applied projects that explore graphic translation, conceptual collage, infographic creation, and social engagement through poster design.
