scholarship

The Art & Design program and Fine Arts department have outlined professional, client-driven work as a route for scholarship along with traditional art exhibits and journal publications. Running a business, meeting with clients, and designing through my professional practice, Design Choice, are integral in being able to pass on the knowledge and skills to do exactly those things. These professional experiences keep me current with relevant practices in a fast-changing field allowing me to mentor students effectively. Doing most of my work in my office means that students see the work I am creating and hear me on calls with clients as I present work, brainstorm about strategies, and receive feedback. All en eye-opening process for them to relate back to how we teach the courses in the program. Additionally, keeping current with my professional practice adds opportunities for current and former students to collaborate with me and my clients.
